‘Shakira’ is a lovely semi-trad narrowboat with a reverse layout that is very well equipped for long-term cruising, live aboard or leisure use and is the ideal size for exploring the extensive network of the UK’s inland waterways. The seller has enjoyed owning the boat for 5 years, but due to relocation has made the difficult decision to sell ‘Shakira’. Accommodation

From the semi-trad stern via double steel doors and a sliding hatch there are a set of removable steps with storage beneath, full height lockers on both sides for general stowage, electrical systems and hot water calorifier.
Galley - well fitted and equipped galley built of oak units, drawers and shelving, light grey corian work surfaces, white tiled splash backs, circular stainless steel sink and drainer with mixer tap and separate purified water tap, washing machine, oven/grill, separate hob, fridge and microwave.
Saloon - the spacious saloon lies forward of the galley with an L shaped dinette that converts into a double berth and has storage beneath the seating, a comfortable sofa, a full height storage and display cabinet, Morso stove on a tiled plinth with tiled surround, side(half) doors with built-in glazed inner doors to give extra light and ventilation.
A starboard side passage way from the saloon has a full height storage locker.
WC & Shower Compartment - full height tiled shower cubicle 65cm x 80cm with folding screen, an oak corner vanity unit with ceramic counter-top basin, a Thetford cassette toilet with spare cassettes, wall-mounted cabinets and radiator.
Master Cabin - comprises a fixed 6'3" x 4'6" double berth with ample storage beneath, full height hanging wardrobes and shelf storage, an over bed shelf with reading lights, steps and doors to the well deck.
The interior is fitted with LED down lighting, red carpet in the saloon and cabin, ceramic tiles in the bathroom and galley, and grey/burgundy patterned curtains. There are ample 240v sockets throughout the vessel. Cabin headroom is 6'5" (1.95m).

Construction

Steel plate shell in 10/6/4mm constructed by John White Boatbuilders in 2008, fitted out by Roger Furlong, completed in 2010.
Semi-trad stern with fitted pram hood, forward cratch cover with hardwood and glazed frame, steel aft and side half doors, steel bow doors with glazing and hardwood lining, anodised alloy port hole hopper windows, red painted cabin sides with green and cream coach lines, light grey painted roof, brass deck fittings. The interior is fully insulated and lined in light oak with solid oak trims and fittings.

Webasto Thermo Top C diesel heater (hot water and heating), 4 radiators, twin coil Calorifier with immersion heater, Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove, fire irons and scuttle, Eco fan, domestic fridge and freezer, Vanette GG220 oven/grill with separate 4 ring hob, water purifier, Indesit washing machine, Thetford cassette toilet with spare cassettes, 2x13kg gas bottles, 2 TVs, satellite aerial, stainless steel water tank, deck equipment, 2 brass tillers, mooring pins, windlasses, linen chest, galley equipment, barometer and clock.

Isuzu 42hp diesel engine coupled to a shaft drive via a Newage PRM 150 D2 gearbox with a single lever engine control.
Vetus 55kgf bow thruster.

Electrics

6 x 232Ah 6V deep cycle traction batteries producing 696Ah at 12V. Separate engine starting and bow thruster batteries. Sterling Pro Combi S 2500W inverter/charger connected to 1070W solar panels with high quality Outback solar controller, Sterling Advanced Alternator to battery controller, Sterling ProSure E galvanic isolator, battery monitor, 240V sockets, shore power connection, fuel and water gauges.

Certification

Boat Safety Certificate expires 23/10/2027.
