Stable, easy to handle with good carrying capacity and an excellent turn of speed" was what Australian David Binks, celebrated designer for Farr Yachts, set out to design and build as the Binks 25. His boat, awarded a Good Design Award in Australia, was imported by Broads boat builders Moores of Wroxham. This example, Mistral has been well maintained and stored ashore for most of the last 10 years and is now ready for a new owner to make the most of her for cruising and club racing. Just short of 26ft, she has a spacious cockpit, fractional rig, draws only 10" with the hydraulic swing keel and rudder in the raised position for beaching or launching, yet is stiff with keel down and beating to windward. Keel pump is new.
4 berths in open plan cabin, with double skinned coach roof and thoughtfully designed galley, heads, wash basin, dining/nav table, quarter berth, main and fore peak berths.
The rig was professionally overhauled in 2011 with new genoa Furlex, stack pack and a replacement and hardly used mainsail. It also has a large cruising shute with whisker pole. Most sail controls lead to cockpit for convenience and safety. 6 winches.
Outboard engine is a reassuringly reliableTohatsu 8hp 2 stroke with 30 litre tank. This and a solar panel generate power to the service battery.
VHF. Bruce anchor, chain and rode. Mooring lines. Tacktick wind instrument. Clipper Duet Log/Sounder (needs attention) Autohelm 800. Nav lights, Gas detector. Boarding ladder.
Cockpit cushions, sprayhood and side spray dodgers.
Purpose built quality four wheeled braked road trailer by De Graff, overhauled in 2021. Mast crane.
